At XM we offer FTSE MIB (IT40) as a cash CFD. Our cash CFDs are undated transactions that aim to replicate the cash price of the underlying instrument, and so they are adjusted for interest.
Regarded as the benchmark stock market index for the Italian national stock exchange, the FTSE MIB (IT40) encompasses the 40 most actively traded stock classes on the Borsa Italiana. Until June 2009, the index was administered by the American Standard & Poor’s financial services company, after which administration was taken over by the British stock market indices provider FTSE Group.
The FTSE MIB (IT40) is derived from all existing stocks actively traded on the Borsa Italiana. It gauges about 80% of the Italian market capitalization and it measures the performance of 40 Italian equities representing highly liquid major companies in Italy. The index is market-capitalization-weighted and it is calculated on the opening prices.
