ENERGY

Italy's regulated household gas prices fell 0.2% in May compared to the previous month, the country's energy authority ARERA said in a statement on Monday.


DEBT

Italy raised more than 5.4 billion euros from the sale of its new 'BTP Valore' bond on the first day of the offer, Milan bourse data showed on Monday, as Rome tries to increase private Italians' holdings of the country's debt.

The offer ends on June 9, barring a possible early closure.

Treasury announces the amounts of 12-month BOT bills to be auctioned on June 9.


COMPANIES

PIRELLI PIRC.MI

The government on Tuesday hears representatives of the tryremaker and its Italian shareholder Camfin as part of its investigation into a new governance agreement at the group between Camfin and Chinese investor Sinochem, under Rome's "golden power" rules, two sources close to the matter told Reuters.

(*) Italy's government is set to make a decision by June 23, on how to use its golden power rules, Il Sole 24 Ore reported on Tuesday. A request to cut Sinochem's stake could be among the options, the paper says.


UNICREDIT CRDI.MI

The market for risky perpetual bonds that banks count towards their capital will recover, the Italian lender's Chief Executive Andrea Orcel said on Monday, adding that only at that time will his bank replace an issue it redeemed this month.

Orcel said on Monday he would be "definitely up for more," when asked about whether he would seek a new mandate at the helm of group.

Italy's Treasury is keen on a merger between MPS and peer BPER, La Repubblica daily reported on Tuesday, adding that BPER's main shareholders have a preliminary green-light to the deal.

The remove possible obstacles to the deal, UniCredit CRDI.MI and southern Italian bank MCC could take up to 25% of the Tuscan lender's branches, the paper said. It added, however, that time was still not ripe for such an accord.

A potential merger between broadcasting tower company Rai Way and its peer EI Towers, which is 60%-owned by Italian infrastructure fund F2i and MFE, is back on the table after new top appointments at the state-controlled company, according to La Repubblica daily.

Italy's market watchdog has fined the Italian diagnostics group 100,000 euros in connection with an alleged breach to disclose obligations relating to inside information, the company said in a statement late on Monday, adding it had appealed against the decision.

The Italian defence group has recently completed the acquisition of a 10% stake in drone company FlyingBasket, Il Sole24 Ore daily reported.


FERRARI RACE.MI

The luxury carmaker's Chief Executive Benedetto Vigna said on Monday it had no plans to purchase other sports car makers.


STELLANTIS STLAM.MI

Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti suggested on Monday Italy has no need to directly invest in the carmaker as the group is doing well, echoing similar comments made last week by Stellantis' chairman.

DIARY
