March 24 (Reuters) -The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1600 ET on Friday:
** Carl Icahn on Friday came down heavily on Illumina Inc ILMN.O, saying its directors demanded extra personal liability insurance against any potential claims related to Grail's acquisition in 2021 before agreeing to signing off on the deal. nL4N35W2PG
** The U.S. Transportation Department on Friday denied an exemption request by JetBlue and Spirit to operate under common ownership, citing the Department of Justice's (DOJ) antitrust lawsuit filed earlier this month seeking to block the deal. nL1N35W25T
** South Korean music label HYBE 352820.KS, manager of boy band BTS, said it aimed to sell its entire 15.8% stake in K-pop pioneer SM Entertainment 041510.KQ for 564 billion won ($437 million) by accepting a tender offer from bidder Kakao. nL1N35W03R
** Australian aged-care provider Estia Health Ltd EHE.AX said it received a non-binding buyout proposal from U.S. private investment firm Bain Capital for A$775.1 million ($517.77 million), sending its shares to an over 3-year high. nL4N35V4F0
** NFL great Tom Brady has acquired an ownership stake in the reigning WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces, team owner Mark Davis announced. nL1N35W03E
** Citizens Financial Group Inc CFG.N is working on a bid to acquire the private banking business of failed Silicon Valley Bank, two people familiar with the matter said. nL1N35V2WE
** Private equity firm Potentia Capital raised its takeover offer for Nitro Software Ltd NTO.AX, saying it now has relevant interests in more than 75% of the Australian software maker shares, a pre-requisite for the higher bid. nL4N35W170
** Office rental company IWG IWG.L is exploring the sale of a major stake in its digital operations unit for about 800 million pounds ($976.64 million), Sky News reported. nL4N35W2CE
** Britain's competition regulator said Microsoft's MSFT.O 69-billion purchase of "Call of Duty" maker Activision Blizzard ATVI.O would not harm competition in gaming consoles, removing a major obstacle to the deal. nL8N35W3BZ
