Italy on Friday impounded two rescue ships run by German charities for breaching tougher migration rules introduced by the country's right-wing government.
ECONOMY
The rapid decline in energy costs should help to tame inflation in Europe, Bank of Italy governor Ignazio Visco said on Saturday, urging companies not to seek to boost their margins by leaving prices higher for longer.

A majority of EU countries have rejected a push by Europe's big telecoms operators to force Big Tech to help fund the rollout of 5G and broadband in the region, people familiar with the matter said.

The Italian government's "golden power" investigation has gathered "increasingly clear" evidence of attempts by Pirelli's top Chinese shareholder Sinochem to interfere with the group's strategies and operations, La Stampa newspaper reported on Monday.

Finnish entrepreneur Thomas Zilliacus is weighing a bid for Inter Milan as the club attracts interest from international investors, people familiar with the matter said, with the team's run to the Champions League final giving it a timely boost.
