CBOT Trends-Corn, wheat up 3-4 cents; soybeans up 8-10 cents
CHICAGO, Feb 2 (Reuters) -Following are U.S. trade expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) at 8:30 a.m. CST (1430 GMT) on Thursday.
WHEAT - Up 3 to 4 cents a bushel
* Most-active CBOT soft red winter wheat contract Wv1 hit its highest since Jan. 4 during the overnight trading session, supported by weakness in the U.S. dollar.
* The U.S. Agriculture Department on Thursday morning said that export sales of wheat totaled 168,900 tonnes in the week ended Jan 26. That was below analysts' forecasts that ranged from 300,000 to 875,000 tonnes. EXP/WHE
* The lowest price offered in the international tender from Egypt's state commodities buyer GASC to purchase wheat on Thursday was believed to be $322.80 a tonne cost and freight for wheat sourced from Russia.
* Benchmark CBOT March soft red winter wheat futures contract WH3 rose above its 50-day moving average during the overnight trading session.
* CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH3 last traded up 4-1/4 cents at $7.64 a bushel, K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH3 was last 3-1/2 cents higher at $8.87-3/4 while MGEX March spring wheat MWEH3 was up 3-1/2 cents at $9.29-1/2 a bushel.
CORN - Up 3 to 4 cents a bushel
* Corn futures firming on signs of improving export demand.
* USDA said corn export sales totaled 1.756 million tonnes, topping market forecasts for 600,000 to 1.35 million tonnes. EXP/CORN
* CBOT March corn CH3 ended overnight trading 4 cents higher at $6.85 a bushel, just off its session peak of $6.85-1/4.
SOYBEANS - Up 8 to 10 cents a bushel
* Soybean futures seen rising on bargain buying after most-active contract Sv1 posted its biggest decline since Jan. 3 on Wednesday. Uncertainty about size of Argentine crop lend support to prices.
* Soybean export sales totaled 928,000 tonnes, in line with trade expectations for 700,000 to 1.6 million tonnes. EXP/SOY
* CBOT March soybeans SH3 were last up 10 cents at $15.30-1/4 a bushel.
