POLITICS
Italy's Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Wednesday the government was poised to pass a decree reorganising the Treasury, adding that the proposal could be discussed by the cabinet as early as this week.
ECONOMY
Italy posted a state sector budget deficit of 7 billion euros ($7.64 billion) in January compared to a shortfall of 902 million euros in the same month last year.
(*) ENERGY
Italy's energy authority ARERA is expected to lower by slightly less than 40%, month-on-month, the regulated household gas price for consumption registered in January, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Wednesday.
COMPANIES
TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI
(*) The Italian phone group has received a non-binding bid for a stake in its fixed-line network from U.S. investment firm KKR KKR.N, Italy's biggest phone group said, adding its board would meet on Thursday to discuss the matter.
(*) Italian newspapers reported that KKR is ready to offer up to 20 billion euros.
(*) Other investors, such as Italy's postal service group Poste Italiane PST.MI and Italian infrastructure fund F2i, could join KKR in the bid for TIM's network, according to Corriere della Sera.
(*) The Italian economy ministry has ruled out cutting VAT for telecom services from 22% to 10%, as TIM CEO had asked in talks with government officials, due to lack of funds, MF reported on Thursday.
STELLANTIS STLA.MI
The carmaker held a 33.9% share in Italy's car market in January, Reuters calculations based on the data provided by the transport ministry showed. Industry-wide car sales rose 19% last month, the transport ministry said.
SNAM SRG.MI
Italy urgently needs to expand the capacity of its gas grid, the CEO of network operator said, adding the group would seek European Union funds to support the development.
SARAS SRS.MI
The Italian refiner said its top investor Angel Capital Management entered into a so-called funded collar derivative contract with BofA Securities related to up to 5% stake of company's capital.

Barclays cut the rating on the stock of the asset manager to 'equal-weight' from 'overweight', raising the target price to 18 euros from 17.5 euros.

Barclays cut the rating on the stock of the asset manager to 'equal-weight' from 'overweight', raising the target price to 38.5 euros from 38 euros.
(*) IPO, EUROGROUP LAMINATIONS
The electric motor and generator components maker get the green light of Milan bourse to IPO. Market regulator CONSOB approved the investor prospectus.
(*) M&A, ITA AIRWAYS
German carrier Lufthansa LHAG.DE plans in 2027 to raise its stake in Alitalia successor to 100% from an initial 40% on which is now in talks with Italy's Treasury, MF reported.
