- The British Gas owner Centrica CNA.L is said to be unlikely to bid for Bulb Energy, leaving only two companies expected to compete for the failed supplier ahead of a deadline this week. Link

- Whitbread WTB.L should launch a 1 billion pound ($1.23 billion) share buyback or sell and lease back hotel properties to lift its depressed share price, analysts at its house broker Morgan Stanley MS.N said on Sunday. Link

- The Queen's bank, Coutts & Co, and the Coal Pensions Board have joined a group of investors backing a resolution calling for Sainsbury's SBRY.L to pay the independently set living wage for all staff and contracted workers. Link

- UK prime minister Boris Johnson on Sunday indicated he plans to retain and extend steel tariffs despite claims that this might put Britain in breach of World Trade Organization rules. Link
