- British waste-management specialist Biffa BIFF.L said it has received a possible buyout offer from Energy Capital Partners that values it at about 1.36 billion pounds ($1.71 billion), sending shares to an all-time high. Link

- The Financial Reporting Council fined PwC a total of 5 million pounds for failings in its audits of Kier KIE.L and Galliford Try GFRD.L , the construction companies said. Link

- The online car seller Cazoo CZOO.N said it is cutting about 750 jobs across the UK and elsewhere in Europe, as it warned of recession and consumer cutbacks. Link

- Marks & Spencer's MKS.L former boss, Steve Rowe, more than doubled his pay to 2.63 million pounds last year after getting his first bonus since 2017 as the cost of living crisis intensifies for customers. Link

- UK Ministers have quietly cancelled a 3 billion pound section of HS2 that would have allowed Scotland to benefit from the controversial high-speed rail line. Link

- UK's Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union announced nationwide strikes on June 21, 23 and 25 in what it billed as the biggest industrial action in the rail sector in more than 30 years. Link

Sky News

- Let's Do This, a British start-up that organises sports challenges and is backed by Serena Williams and Usain Bolt, has raised $60m in funding, it said on Tuesday. Link

- Fossil fuel giant Equinor EQNR.OL , in an interview with Sky News said it is not investing as much money as it ought to in renewable forms of energy. Link
