India stocks, rupee, swaps, call at 1300 IST
MUMBAI, Nov 28 (Reuters) -
STOCKS: The benchmark BSE Sensex .BSESN rose 377.08 points, or 0.61%, to 62,670.72, while the broader NSE index .NSEI gained 75.05 points, or 0.41%, to 18,587.8, both at an all-time high, aided by gains in oil companies as crude prices slid following protests in major Chinese cities.
RUPEE: The Indian rupee INR=IN weakened 0.04% to 81.72 per dollar, but did well relative to other Asian currencies, thanks to a near-term support level, traders said. GOVERNMENT BONDS: Benchmark 10-year bond IN072632G=CC was quoted at 99.95 rupees, with yield down 4 bps at 7.2649%, as a continued decline in oil prices provided comfort to market participants, while lower U.S. Treasury yields also aided sentiment. OVERNIGHT INDEXED SWAPS: The one-year overnight indexed swap rate INRAMONMI1Y= was down 6 bps at 6.64%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate INRSMONMI5Y= fell 4 bps to 6.31%, tracking government bond yields. CALL MONEY/REPOS: India's overnight call money INROND= rate was up 10 bps at 6.10% against 6.00% in the previous session. The overnight TREPS rate INTREPTOT=TCCL was at 5.95%, compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.1146%.
