POLITICS

European Union ministers agreed on Thursday on how to share out the responsibility for looking after migrants and refugees, after 12 hours of negotiations got Italy and Greece to sign up to a deal that has eluded the bloc for nearly a decade.


ECONOMY

ISTAT releases April industrial output data (0800 GMT).


DEBT

The Italian Treasury has raised 17.1 billion euros in the first four days of the offer of its new 'BTP Valore' bond dedicated to retail investors, bourse data showed on Thursday.

The BTP Valore offer ends on Friday at 1100 GMT.

Treasury to sell 6.5 billion euros 12-month BOT bills. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.

The Treasury said on Thursday it would sell up to 7.5 billion euros in BTP bonds at a June 13 auction.


COMPANIES

GENERALI GASI.MI

The insurer is interested in acquiring Liberty Seguros, the European activities of US Liberty Mutual Group, the MF daily reported on Friday. The deadline for submitting the offers for a portfolio worth around 1.2 billion euros, the paper added, is today.


TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI

U.S. fund KKR KKR.N and a rival consortium comprising state lender CDP and Australian fund Macquarie MQG.AX are readying to submit slightly improved bids for TIM's network ahead of a June 9 deadline, sources said.


LEONARDO LDOF.MI

The Italian defence group said on Thursday it signed a deal with Azerbaijan for the supply of C-27J military transport plane, without giving details about the contract.


ENI ENI.MI

(*) U.S. oilfield services provider Halliburton HAL.N said on Thursday it would enter into a long-term agreement with Norwegian oil and gas company Var Energi VAR.OL, controlled by Eni, for drilling services.

The planned deal has a duration of five years, Halliburton said, and includes the option of a four-year extension.

Eni and oil and gas operator KazMunayGas (KMG) will work together to build Kazakhstan's first hybrid renewables-gas power plant, the Italian energy group said on Thursday following a meeting with the Kazakh president in Astana.

The company said on Thursday it had renewed its euro medium term note programme for its maximum amount of 9 billion euros.


(*) MAIRE TECNIMONT MTCM.MI

The Italian engineering group said on Friday that its Tecnimont unit is part of a consortium that won a $300 million contract to build a fertilizer plant in Egypt.

Tecnimont will perform mainly engineering and procurement activities for a value of $220 million, equal to approximately 70% of the total value to the consortium.


WEBUILD WBD.MI

The Italian government's plans to revive the construction of a bridge between Sicily and mainland Italy would unduly favour the private sector and put too much risk on the public sector, the head of Italy's anti-corruption agency said on Thursday.


EL.EN ELEN.MI

The laser equipment maker has temporarily suspended the listing of its Chinese unit Penta Laser Zhejiang, CEO Andrea Cangioli told Il Sole 24 Ore newspaper, adding the outlook for 2023 was weaker then expected because of post-COVID effects on the economy.


EUROVITA (not listed)

Italian authorities may extend beyond the current June 30 deadline a temporary halt to the early redemption of ailing life insurer Eurovita's products, a consumer association said after a meeting with the company's special administrator.


FINLOGIC FNL.MI

Argo SpA ends full voluntary takeover bid on Finlogic ordinary shares.


VISIBILIA EDITORE VE.MI

Ends capital increase.

Milan, market regulator CONSOB holds annual meeting with financial market (0900 GMT); expected attendees include Bank of Italy Governor Ignazio Visco, Economy Undersecretary Federico Freni.

Milan, Algebris Investments holds round-table discussion "Italian and European Banking System: Challenges and Opportunities" (0830 GMT); expected attendees includeECB board member Andrea Enria (1030 GMT).
