INTEREST RATES
The Polish Monetary Policy Council will announce its decision on interest rates.
POLLS
The flood did not bring any statistically significant changes in the polls, according to an IBRiS survey for Rzeczpospolita daily, which showed support for Civic Coalition (KO) falling slightly to 33.1%, Law and Justice (PiS) at 32.9% of respondents, and Third Way at 10.1%.
JUSTICE
The head of the President's Chancellery, Malgorzata Paprocka, told Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily that the government is usurping the right to selectively decide who is a judge in Poland and which judgments should be respected.
ENERGY
The head of Poland's energy regulator (URE) Rafal Gawin said that most energy market participants are in favor of maintaining the capacity market until at least 2040, but also want this mechanism to support low-emission sources and flexibility, Parkiet daily reported.
LOT
In 2024 LOT Polish Airlines will increase its fleet by 11 planes and it is looking for the opportunity to acquire more Boeing BA.N dreamliners.
IT
The IT market has grown this year by 11 thousand new businesses and if this trend continues until the end of the year, there will be over 200 thousand entities in this industry in Poland, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
CONSTRUCTION
The Ministry of Development said it will introduce regulations that will limit the possibility of filing appeals against building permit decisions, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported.
FOOTBALL
In the 2023/2024 season, Polish football clubs achieved a record revenue of 1.17 billion zlotys ($301.97 million), with Legia Warsaw ranking highest after seeing its revenue increase by 84% year on year to 267 million zlotys, Puls Biznesu daily reported.
