CHICAGO, Jan 26 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for soybeans were steady to higher at elevators in the U.S. Midwest on Thursday, dealers said.

* Farmer selling remained sluggish despite gains in futures markets, dealers said.

* Grain and soybean futures jumped after a U.S. government report showed strong overseas demand for the agricultural commodities, traders said.

* A large corn processor in Blair, Nebraska, reduced its spot basis by 5 cents a bushel, after raising it by 5 cents on Wednesday.
