NUCLEAR

The government will on Wednesday adopt a resolution to allow Poland's first nuclear power plant to be built by American firm Westinghouse. According to unofficial information, the resolution will involve the construction of three nuclear units with a total capacity of approximately 3.3 gigawatts, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.

Poland will not have any capital involvement in the nuclear power plant construction project commissioned by PGE PGE.WA , ZE PAK ZEEP.WA and the Korean KHNP, but the Korean side declared it would take part in financing the project, State Assets Minister Jacek Sasin was quoted as saying by Rzeczpospolita daily.

The location of Poland's second nuclear power plant is set to be announced in 2023, Polish daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reported. Three potential technological partners are under consideration - the Americans, the French and the Koreans, the newspaper reported, citing unofficial information.

RUSSIA

48% of people believe that Poland should welcome and help Russian opposition activists opposed to Putin, while 42.5% of respondents are against it, according to an IBRiS poll commissioned by Polish daily Rzeczpospolita.
