Jan 14 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower, with futures FFIc1 down 0.5% on Friday.

* CINEWORLD: Cineworld's CINE.L box office sales recovered in December from a dip in the previous month with sales surging nearly 90%, compared with pre-COVID levels, due to the success of Marvel DIS.N superhero film "Spider-Man: No Way Home".

* ASTON MARTIN: Luxury carmaker Aston Martin AML.L on Friday named Doug Lafferty, finance chief of Africa-focussed fuel retailer Vivo Energy VVO.L , as its new chief financial officer replacing Kenneth Gregor.

* CURRYS: British electricals retailer Currys CURY.L edged down its full-year profit outlook after what it called a "challenging" technology market at Christmas with uneven customer demand and supply disruption.

* BELLWAY: British housebuilder Bellway BWY.L named former Redrow RDW.L chief executive officer John Tutte as its non-executive chairman designate effective March 1.

* ECONOMY: Britain's economy grew by a much stronger-than-expected 0.9% in November, finally taking it above its size just before the country went into its first COVID-19 lockdown, the Office for National Statistics said on Friday.

* ANTITRUST: Social media giant Facebook FB.O , now known as Meta Platforms, faces a 2.3 billion pound plus class action in Britain over allegations it abused its market dominance by exploiting the personal data of 44 million users.

* OIL: Oil prices eased for a second session on growing concerns that Washington may soon act to cool prices, while movement controls in China to rein in a COVID-19 outbreak weighed on fuel demand.

* London's FTSE 250 index slipped on Thursday, dragged down by shares of Countryside Properties and Marks & Spencer, while a rise in heavyweight financial and commodity stocks helped the FTSE 100 edge higher.
