- Heathrow Airport handled 6.3 million passengers last month, nearly 20% below its pre-pandemic levels, after it failed to recruit enough staff in security, at the gate, and on the tarmac during the spring. Link

- Sainsbury's SBRY.L and Tesco TSCO.L have halted sales of disposable barbecues amid rising alarm about their potential to spark wildfires, as large swathes of the United Kingdom suffer a lengthy dry spell. Link

- Prime Minister Boris Johnson has warned energy companies that sky-high bills will damage their business, speaking at a round table with the electricity sector where the chancellor of the exchequer Nadhim Zahawi cautioned that "extraordinary profits" were being evaluated. Link

- EDF EDF.PA energy customers in Britain are paying almost two-and-a-half times as much as their counterparts in France after France President Emmanuel Macron imposed strict caps on price rises. Link
