ISTANBUL, Feb 3 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.

The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 18.8195 against the dollar early on Friday, little changed from Thursday's close of 18.8100.

The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.82% higher at 4,752.24 points on Thursday.


GLOBAL MARKETS

Asian shares turned lower and the dollar regained some of its footing on Friday, as disappointing earnings from U.S. tech giants undermined sentiment ahead of a key U.S. non-farm payrolls report. Overnight, markets sensed the end of the massive global tightening cycle, after policymakers in Britain and Europe signalled their intention to pause, sending local bonds rallying and currencies lower.


ERDOGAN PROGRAMME

President Tayyip Erdogan will speak at an opening ceremony in Istanbul (1200 GMT). He will then host Albanian Prime Minister Albin Kurti (1430) and hold a joint news conference (1700 GMT).


INFLATION DATA TRCPI=ECI

The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce inflation data for January (0700 GMT). Annual inflation should drop to 53.5% in January even as prices continue jumping on a monthly basis, according to a Reuters poll.


WESTERN AMBASSADORS SUMMONED

Turkey summoned ambassadors of nine Western countries including the United States and Sweden on Thursday to criticise their decisions to temporarily shut diplomatic missions and issue security alerts following Koran-burning incidents in Europe.


F-16 SALE TO TURKEY

The U.S. Congress cannot support the $20 billion sale of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey until Ankara ratifies the NATO memberships of Sweden and Finland, a bipartisan group of senators said on Thursday.


NORWAY

Norwegian police on Thursday banned a planned anti-Islam protest including the burning of a copy of the Koran this week for security reasons, hours after the Turkish foreign ministry summoned Norway's ambassador to complain.


FOREIGN MINISTER

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will hold a joint news conference in Istanbul with his Argentinian counterpart (0730 GMT).


INTEREST RATES

Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati said Turkey would keep interest rates low after elections expected in May and not reverse course on monetary policy, according to an interview published by Bloomberg.


UKRAINIAN RIGHTS COMMISSIONER

Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets to hold news conference with Turkey's ombudsman Seref Malkoc.


YAPI KREDI YKBNK.IS

The lender said net profit surged to 52.74 billion lira ($2.8 billion) in 2023 from 10.49 billion a year earlier.


ENERGY MINISTER

Energy Minister Fatih Donmez will visit Azerbaijan for a meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council (0700 GMT).
