UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Jan. 12

Jan 12 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index opened 0.5% higher on Wednesday.

* SAINSBURY'S: British supermarket group Sainsbury's SBRY.L raised its full-year profit forecast by at least 9% following stronger than expected food sales over Christmas, even though it fell short of its stellar 2020 festive performance.

* TRUSTPILOT: Consumer reviews website Trustpilot TRST.L , which listed in London last year, said in a trading update that its revenue grew 24% in 2021, with bookings up 27%.

* DUNELM: British homewares retailer Dunelm DNLM.L said its full-year profit was expected to be "materially ahead" of market expectations after a record performance in the 13 weeks to Christmas.

* TOPPS TILES: Topps Tiles TPT.L said it expects annual gross margins to be "moderately lower" compared with last year, as the British tile retailer battles higher shipping and input costs.

* WHITBREAD: Premier Inn owner Whitbread WTB.L said accommodation at its UK hotels has remained strong in recent weeks, despite the spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant.

* JD SPORTS: JD Sports Fashion JD.L raised its annual profit forecast ahead of market expectations, benefiting from robust holiday demand and as U.S. consumers spent more on apparels.

* PAGEGROUP: Global recruiter PageGroup Plc PAGE.L lifted its full-year profit forecast for the third time in six months , buoyed by a surge in demand for long-term hiring and staff shortages.

* OIL: Oil prices steadied after rising in the previous session on expectations that fuel demand will continue to strengthen as the U.S. Federal Reserve is likely to raise interest rates more slowly than expected.

* GOLD: Gold prices eased as traders kept an eye out for U.S. inflation data for rate clues after less hawkish comments from the Federal Reserve chief fuelled a bullion rally in the previous session.

* London's blue-chip index rose on Tuesday, as global equities paused after a recent sell-off on concerns about tighter monetary policies, while midcap stocks bounced off near three-week lows.
