May 20 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 index .FTSE is seen opening higher on Friday, with futures FFIc1 up 1.3%.

* THG: British e-commerce company THG THG.L was at the centre of a bid battle on Thursday, rejecting an offer from two investment groups and learning that local entrepreneur Nick Candy was considering making a bid.

* IAG: British Airways owner IAG ICAG.L announced plans on Thursday to order 50 Boeing 737 MAX jets, reviving part of a stalled bid to replace Europe's Airbus for some of its short-haul flights while handing support to struggling Boeing.

* SHELL: Advisory group PIRC recommended shareholders vote against Shell's SHEL.L non-binding climate resolution at the energy company's annual general meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, according to a document seen by Reuters.

* REGULATOR : The European health regulator on Thursday endorsed the use of AstraZeneca's AZN.L COVID-19 vaccine, Vaxzevria, as a booster.

* CONSUMER SENTIMENT: Pessimism weighing on Britain's households has hit unprecedented levels as the cost-of-living crisis pushed confidence in the economic outlook to its joint lowest, a survey showed.

* OIL: Oil prices were little changed on Friday as worries about weaker economic growth offset expectations that crude demand could rebound in China as Shanghai lifts some coronavirus lockdowns.

* GOLD: Gold edged lower on Friday but prices were still set for their first weekly gain since mid-April, as the dollar receding from two-decade highs and mounting concerns over U.S. economic growth revived safe-haven demand.

* UK's FTSE 100 tumbled on Thursday as investors globally fretted over the broadening impact of inflation on economic growth and corporate profits, while Royal Mail slumped after reporting disappointing results.
