** Chevron Corp CVX.N said it is increasing its U.S. oil and gas footprint by acquiring shale producer PDC Energy Inc PDCE.O in a stock-and-debt transaction worth $7.6 billion. nL4N37J2Q3
** Mizuho Financial Group Inc 8411.T will buy U.S. M&A advisory firm Greenhill & Co Inc GHL.N for $550 million including debt, the companies said, as Japan's No. 3 lender eyes a bigger share of the world's largest investment-banking fee pool. nL4N37J33P
** An investment firm backed by Brazil's Moreira Salles family has decided to launch a tender offer to buy an additional stake in Alpargatas SA ALPA4.SA, the shoemaker said, driving its shares higher. nL1N37J0YH
** Finnish plumbing and heating systems maker Uponor UPONOR.HE once more rejected a takeover offer from Belgian water management group Aliaxis BE0941243520.BR, saying the bid had been "insufficient". nL8N37J13U

** Australia's Tyro Payments TYR.AX shares dropped by nearly 20% after it said private equity firm Potentia Capital does not intend to proceed with a buyout proposal. nL1N37I0LZ
