POLITICS
An Italian court on Wednesday dropped a case against former Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and former Health Minister Roberto Speranza over their initial handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, a court document said.
ECONOMY
Bank of Italy releases May data on Target 2 liabilities and European Central Bank funding to Italian banks.
DEBT
Treasury continues offer of new 4-year 'BTP Valore' dedicated to retail investors, raising 14.85 billion euros ($15.90 billion) in the first three days of the offer, bourse data showed on Wednesday.
The offer is scheduled to end on June 9, but may be subject to early closure.
Treasury announces sale of BTP bonds, with relative amounts to be auctioned on June 13.
COMPANIES
ENI ENI.MI
The Italian energy group said on Wednesday it had signed an MoU with Libya during a visit to Rome by the Prime Minister of the Tripoli-based Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid al-Dbeibah.
Under the deal, Eni will work in Libya on emission reduction projects, assess possible initiatives on renewable energies and energy efficiency, and look for additional gas resources from existing fields, the company said.

Italy's biggest utility will be forced to abandon two hydroelectric plants in Argentina because the local government decided to nationalise their concessions, MF reported.

The second-largest Italian bank is among the bidders for OTP Bank's Romanian unit, MF reported. Other potential bidders include Erste Bank Group, Banca Transilvania, Alpha Bank and EximBank, the newspaper added.
TELECOM ITALIA TLIT.MI
The phone group said on Wednesday its submarine cable unit Sparkle had signed an MoU with the Libyan state-owned telecoms company LPTIC to build a new submarine infrastructure connecting Libya to Italy and the rest of Europe.

The Italian lender received non-binding offers form AMCO, illimity ILTY.MI, Hoist and Guber for a portfolio of non-performing loans worth around 400 million euros ($428.60 million), daily MF reported.

The energy group, which is controlled by France's EDF EDF.PA, appealed to a London court to claim damages over the delayed start of export operations of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Venture Global LNG plant in Louisiana, Il Sole 24 Ore reported on Thursday.

An agreement to rescue the insurance company is closer after a meeting between Italy's economy ministry and all the parties involved on Wednesday, Il Sole 24 Ore reported. The halt to the early redemption of the insurance company products could be extended beyond the deadline of June 30, some newspapers said.
