** Sub-index on course for a fourth consecutive weekly drop, down 3.8% so far in the week

** Iron ore futures hit a two-month low on Tuesday, weighed down by lingering weak fundamentals and concerns over demand prospects in top consumer China IRONORE/

** Shares of top miners BHP Group BHP.AX and Rio Tinto RIO.AX slide as much as 1.5% and 1.6%, respectively

** BHP hits lowest level since May 14, while Rio touches weakest level since April 8

** AXMM down 10.6% this year, as of last close
