April 16 -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Tuesday, with futures FFIc1 down 1.4%.

* RIO TINTO: A Native American group has asked all members of a U.S. appeals court to overturn an earlier ruling that granted land to Rio Tinto RIO.AX, RIO.L for a copper mine in Arizona, saying the land was sacred and culturally significant.

* OIL: Oil prices rose amid heightened tensions in the Middle East after Israel's military chief said his country would respond to Iran's weekend missile and drone attack amid calls for restraint by allies.

* METALS: Prices of most non-ferrous metals declined, pressured by a dollar that hit a five-month high, as traders gauged slimmer chances and a smaller scale for U.S. interest rate cuts.

* FTSE: The UK's benchmark FTSE 100 lost ground on Monday hurt by losses in heavyweight energy shares and precious metal miners on growing geopolitical risks due to conflict in the Middle East, while a rise in BAE Systems kept the declines in check.
