** The French state acquired enough EDF EDF.PA shares on the market to start squeeze-out proceedings as it fully nationalises the nuclear energy giant, the finance ministry said. nL1N3451XR
** GXO Logistics GXO.N, the world’s largest contract logistics provider, is open to sizeable takeover deals of more than $1 billion in Canada, Chief Executive Malcolm Wilson said earlier this week. nL8N3454V2
** Thoma Bravo will buy Canadian software firm Magnet Forensics Inc MAGT.TO in a C$1.8 billion ($1.34 billion) deal, the company said, as the private equity firm bolsters its cybersecurity portfolio to tap into rising demand. nL4N3452XI
** Bolivia has chosen a consortium including Chinese battery giant CATL 300750.SZ to help develop the South American country's huge, but largely untapped, reserves of lithium after a lengthy bidding process involving firms from the United States and Russia. nL1N34510B
** A unit of Canadian insurer Sun Life Financial Inc SLF.TO has partnered with Hong Kong-based Dah Sing Bank 2356.HK in a deal valued at nearly C$260 million ($193 million), the companies said. nL4N3442F0
** Shares in Spain's Cellnex CLNX.MC jumped 8% after a media report that said American Tower AMT.N and asset manager Brookfield BN.TO were weighing a possible takeover bid for the mobile phone tower operator. nL8N3452K6
** ABB Ltd ABBN.S has sold its power conversion business to AcBel Polytech Inc 6282.TW for $505 million, the Swiss engineering and technology company said. nL8N3451G5
** Britain's competition regulator said French pastry-mix maker Cérélia will have to sell the Jus-Rol business after the watchdog found that a merger would lessen choice for consumers and harm competition among wholesale retailers of dough in the UK. nL4N3451UD
** Germany's Federal Cartel Office has authorized the takeover of parts of French firm Terreal by Austrian brickmaker Wienerberger AG WBSV.VI, the regulator said. nL8N3452B1
** Japan Tobacco Inc 2914.T, the cigarette conglomerate one-third owned by the government, is facing a shareholder motion to sell off its listed drug unit Torii Pharmaceutical Co 4551.T to boost shareholder value. nL1N3450GP
** Australia's competition regulator said it was seeking market views on the proposed sale of MBCC Group's assets in the country by Swiss chemicals maker Sika AG SIKA.S. nL4N3450AG
** Colombia's aviation regulator annulled a business merger process between Avianca and Viva airlines due to procedural irregularities, meaning the process will restart without the companies having to reapply, the aviation governing body announced on Thursday. nL1N34435R
