POLITICS

Leaders of the G7 nations condemned Iran's attack on Israel and said on Sunday they would work to try to prevent an "uncontrollable regional escalation" in the Middle East.

Italy, which holds the rotating presidency of the G7, had called a meeting of G7 heads after U.S. President Joe Biden pledged a coordinated diplomatic response to the unprecedented drone and missile attack launched overnight by Iran.

UNICREDIT CRDI.MI

The lender's shareholders voted on Friday to give CEO Andrea Orcel another three-year mandate and backed the remuneration policy that makes him one of Europe's best-paid bankers.


COMPANIES

TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI

Small shareholder group ASATI, which says it represents investors having a combined stake of about 1% in TIM, has withdrawn its nominees for the TIM board and will back a slate of candidates put forward by the outgoing board at the AGM on April 23, a statement seen by Reuters showed on Sunday.

The former Italian phone monopoly signed a deal with trade unions on Friday to reduce the working hours of the group's employees.

The group will also launch by the end of April a planned exchange offer - envisaged in the offer by KKR for the company's fixed network assets - on a set of bonds it issued over the years, with a maturity from 2026 onwards, for a total of 8.5 billion euros, Corriere della Sera reported on Saturday.

The world's largest cable maker will acquire copper and aluminium electrical cable maker Encore Wire WIRE.O for an enterprise value of about 3.9 billion euros ($4.15 billion), the companies said on Monday.


PIRELLI PIRC.MI, BREMBO BRBI.MI

The recent increase in the stake held in the tyre maker and an investors' pact with brake maker Brembo, is not a first step in a change of the ownership structure of Pirelli but rather a way to grant the group "autonomy in the medium term", Pirelli's Marco Tronchetti Provera told Milano Finanza in an interview published on Saturday.


FINCANTIERI FCT.MI, LEONARDO LDOF.MI

Negotiations between the two groups over Whitehead Alenia Sistemi Subacquea (WASS) are at an advanced stage but are being slowed down due disagreements over the price of Wass and the outline of the group, the employees and the assets to be sold given the company is not independent but a unit of Leonardo, Milano Finanza reported on Saturday.


SAIPEM SPMI.MI

The energy contractor has received from ExxonMobil Guyana Limited and its Stabroek block partners the authorization to proceed with the execution of the Whiptail oilfield development project, situated in the offshore Guyana, at a water depth of approximately 2,000 meters, it said on Saturday. The contract value is between $750 million and $1.5 billion.

The group is in talks with four different banks, who are looking to expand in asset management and interested in investing in Azimut's new digital bank, Chairman Pietro Giuliani told Corriere della Sera's L'Economia in an interview published on Monday. "I am carrying out an auction not on price, which is extremely competitive, but on time, on speed of response," he said.
