UK property asking prices rise 9.3% on year - Rightmove

LONDON, July 18 (Reuters) - Asking prices for British homes advertised for sale this month were 9.3% higher than a year earlier, down from a 9.7% rise in June as mortgage costs rise sharply for first-time buyers, property website Rightmove said on Monday. Britain's housing market has been showing some signs of cooling after a more than 20% surge in prices since the start of the pandemic, as the cost of living surges and the Bank of England steadily raises interest rates.

UK property prices rise by least since January - Rightmove

LONDON, June 20 (Reuters) - Asking prices for British homes being put up for sale rose by the smallest amount since January this month, as the rising cost of living and the prospect of higher interest rates squeezed home-buyers, property website Rightmove said on Monday. Rightmove said asking prices for homes put on sale between May 15 and June 11 were 0.3% higher than a month earlier, down from a 2.1% rise in its May data.
