(*) ECONOMY

Italy will submit to the EU Commission an update of its spending plans related to European post-COVID recovery funds by July following the guidance agreed with Brussels, Italy's Treasury undersecretary was quoted as saying on Thursday.


DEBT

Foreign investors bought 77.7% of the new 15-year euro zone inflation-linked BTP bond, the Italian Treasury said on Wednesday.

Treasury sells 2.25-2.75 billion euros 3.40% BTP Short due March 28, 2025. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.

Treasury announces sale of BTP and CCTeu bonds, with relative amounts to be auctioned on May 30.

(*) Italy's top insurer confirmed on Thursday all targets of its business plan for 2024 after posting rising quarterly profits thanks to the strong contribution of its non-life businesses.

The Italian energy group and Angola's Sonangol will broaden their cooperation on feedstock for the production of biofuels and minerals for energy transition, the two companies said on Wednesday after signing a memorandum of understanding.

The Colombian unit of Italy's biggest utility indefinitely suspended the construction of a wind farm in Colombia's north on Wednesday after a series of protests by local communities.

The automaker said on Wednesday it may limit shipments of gasoline-powered vehicles to dealers in states that have adopted California's strict emissions rules.

Goldman Sachs GS.N held a 0.89% stake in Intesa Sanpaolo as of May 15, according to a filing on Wednesday by Italy's market watchdog CONSOB.

The Italian broadcaster will obtain a seat on the supervisory board of media group ProSiebenSat.1 PSMGn.DE, according to an invitation to the German company's annual shareholder meeting released on Wednesday.

JP Morgan raised its rating to "Neutral" from "Underweight" and the target price to 0.64 euros from 0.59 euros.

Regional utility Iren is interested in submitting an offer for a majority stake in smaller rival Egea by a 12 June deadline, Il Sole 24 Ore daily reported. Peer A2A had also flagged it would bid for Egea.

Italy's top flight soccer league has picked Lazard LAZ.N as adviser to assess approaches from private equity firms and banks interested in buying into Serie A's media business, two sources with knowledge of the matter said on Wednesday.
