Nov 2 -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.64%.


* SHELL: Shell SHEL.L reported third-quarter earnings of $6.2 bln, inline with expectations, on higher refining margins and strong liquefied natural gas (LNG) trading.

* BT: BT Group BT.L, Britain's biggest broadband and mobile provider, posted second-quarter earnings slightlyahead of forecasts putting it on track to meet 2024 guidance, in one of outgoing CEO's final announcements.

* ENTAIN: Entain ENT.L forecast areturn to growth in 2024 even as it posted a drop in gaming revenue in third quarter, hit by adverse sporting results and regulatory pressures.

* HALEON: Haleon HLN.L, world's largest consumer healthcare company, missed market estimates for third-quarter revenues.

* BATS: British American Tobacco BATS.L said it appointed Soraya Benchikh as its CFO.

* SAINSBURY: British supermarket group Sainsbury's SBRY.L forecast FYprofit at upper half of previous guidance as it reported slightly better-than-expected flat profit for first half due to demand for its food ranges.

* SMITH+ NEPHEW: UK's Smith+ Nephew SN.L forecast annual revenue growth at higher end of guided range of 6-7% and named ad group WPP's WPP.L former finance boss John Rogers as its new CFO.

* HSBC: HSBC Holdings HSBA.L said it kept its best lending rate in Hong Kong unchanged at 5.875%, after the city's de facto central bank kept unchanged the base rate charged through its overnight discount window.

* LLOYDS:Lloyds LLOY.L is exploring the sale of some assets from its pension provider Scottish Widows worth 6 billion pounds ($7.3 billion), Bloomberg News reported.

* OIL: Oil gained more than 1% on Thursday to snap its three-day decline.
