About NASDAQ ‏(US100)

The NASDAQ Stock Market is known as the first electronic stock market in the world, and since its establishment in 1971 it has become the second largest stock exchange globally and in the United States (after the New York Stock Exchange) in terms of trading volume and market capitalization. It is also a leading stock exchange regarding its high relative concentration of technology stocks.

The main NASDAQ index is the NASDAQ Composite, with its subset NASDAQ 100 (US100) that consists of 107 equity securities issued by the 107 most powerful non-financial companies listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. The NASDAQ 100 (US100) is a capitalization-weighted index, which reflects companies from major industry groups, including computer hardware/software, retail/wholesale trade and biotechnology, as well as telecommunications.
