Tempest Therapeutics jumps on positive combo therapy liver cancer trial data
** Shares of cancer-focused drug developer Tempest Therapeutics Inc TPST.O up 666.7% at $1.84 premarket
** Co says its experimental treatment TPST-1120 in combination showed clinical superiority in multiple early- to mid-stage study goals to treat the most common type of liver cancer
** The trial tested TPST-1120 in combination with Roche's ROG.S atezolizumab and bevacizumab in a randomized comparison to atezolizumab + bevacizumab (control arm) in the first-line treatment of patients
** Confirmed objective response rate of 30% for the TPST-1120 triplet arm vs 13.3% for the control arm
** TPST-1120 remains well tolerated, with safety data comparable between the two arms - company
** Roche managed the study operations for this multicenter trial, pursuant to a clinical collaboration; Tempest retains all product rights to TPST-1120
** Tempest separately also reported that its board has adopted a limited duration stockholder rights plan, effective immediately
** As of last close, stock down ~79% YTD
