US Cash Grains- Corn and soybean basis steady across Midwest
CHICAGO, May 29 (Reuters) -Basis bids for corn and soybeans were steady at U.S. Midwest grain facilities on Wednesday as Chicago Board of Trade corn futures fell on favorable U.S. planting weather and crop progress data.
* CBOT July corn futures CN24 notched down 7-1/4 cents to settle at $4.55-1/4 per bushel, while July soybeans SN24 fell 15-1/2 cents to $12.14 per bushel.
* U.S. corn was 83% planted vs 70% a week ago and ahead of the 5-year average of 82%, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data issued on Tuesday.
* U.S. soybeans were 68% planted, compared to 52% a week ago and ahead of the 5-year average of 63%, according to the USDA.
* Dry planting weather is expected to last into the end of the week in the U.S. Midwest, analysts said
