US Cash Grains-Corn basis bids steady to higher at processors, ethanol plants
CHICAGO, May 29 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for corn were steady to up at processors and ethanol plants around the U.S. Midwest and steady to down at river terminals on Tuesday, according to spot checks.
* The corn basis rose by 8 cents per bushel at a processor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
* Soybean basis bids were unchanged.
* Corn and soy futures fell amid favorable planting weather in the U.S. Midwest and steady planting progress. GRA/
* The U.S. corn crop was 83% planted as of Sunday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said, in line with trade expectations and ahead of the five-year average of 82%. Soybean planting was 68% complete, ahead of the five-year average of 63%.
