BASF pauses battery recycling project in Spain on slower EV uptake FRANKFURT, July 26 (Reuters) - German chemicals giant BASF BASFn.DE said it was putting plans to build a large battery recycling site in Tarragona, Spain, on hold because of the slowdown in adoption of electric vehicles. "The market penetration of electric vehicles has slowed down significantly outside of China," CEO Markus Kamieth said in a speech prepared for analysts that was posted on the company's website.
