UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Aug 2
Aug 2 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 index .FTSE is seen opening lower on Tuesday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.4%.
* BP: BP BP.L reported a second-quarter profit of $8.45 billion, its highest in 14 years, as strong refining margins and oil trading helped it boost its dividend and share repurchases.
* DOMINO'S: Domino's Pizza Group Plc DOM.L reported a 5.6% fall in first-half system sales and said it expected marketing spend in the second half of the year to be "significantly" higher than the first six months.
* JD SPORTS: Britain's largest sportswear retailer JD Sports Fashion JD.L named Régis Schultz as its new chief executive officer.
* DIRECT LINE: British motor insurer Direct Line DLGD.L posted a 32% fall in first half pre-tax profit, hit by high inflation in the cost of paying claims, though the results beat expectations.
* A.G. BARR: A.G. Barr BAG.L said it sees a 19% rise in first-half like-for-like revenue, powered by steady demand for its cocktail mixes and fizzy drinks during the summer.
* PURPLEBRICKS: Britain's Purplebricks Group Plc PURP.L reported its first annual loss since the pre-pandemic 2019 fiscal year, hurt by lower volumes of instructions, and said it expects supply dynamics in the housing market to remain challenging.
* MAN GROUP: UK fund manager Man Group EMG.L flagged potential volatility in the near term, while reporting net inflows 2.7% ahead of the broader asset management industry.
* GREGGS: British baker and fast food chain Greggs GRG.L maintained its full-year outlook, saying its value offer was attractive in a market where consumer incomes were under pressure.
* VIRGIN MONEY: British lender Virgin Money UK Plc VMUK.L reported an increase in its unsecured total lending, as consumer loans grew on higher retail spending.
* UNILEVER: Ben & Jerry's and its parent Unilever Plc ULVR.L said talks had broken down to resolve their dispute over the sale of the ice cream maker's Israeli business, which would allow its products in the occupied West Bank.
