Turkey - Factors To Watch on May 15
ANKARA, May 15 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 32.2700-32.3000 against the U.S. dollar at 0430 GMT, compared with a close of 32.2750 on Tuesday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.17% higher at 10,173.42 points on Tuesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stocks rose on Wednesday while the dollar drifted lower as traders weighed mixed U.S. producer price data and braced for the crucial consumer price report later in the day that is likely to influence the Federal Reserve's near-term policy path.
ERDOGAN SCHEDULE
President Tayyip Erdogan will make a speech in parliament to lawmakers from his ruling AK Party (0845 GMT) and will attend to the general assembly of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (1100 GMT).
FINANCE MINISTER
Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek will speak at the Qatar Economic Forum (0815 GMT).
TRADE MINISTER
Trade Minister Omer Bolat will attend the general assembly of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (1400 GMT).
FOREIGN MINISTER
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will meet Canadian counterpart Melanie Joly in Ankara.
PARLIAMENT
The opposition Felicity Party (0615 GMT) and IYI Party (0730 GMT) will hold group meetings in parliament.
BUDGET BALANCE TRBUD=ECI
The Turkish Treasury will announce central government budget data for April (0800 GMT).
CENBANK GOVERNOR
Turkey's central bank governor said on Tuesday it would do "whatever it takes" to lower inflation and committed to keeping a tight policy stance, even as annual consumer price inflation would peak at about 75% this month.
