ISTANBUL, May 17 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 stood at 32.27 against the U.S. dollar at0417 GMT, weakening from Thursday's close of 32.24.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.59% higher at 10,319.96 points on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stocks inched lower on Friday as traders pondered the near term U.S. monetary policy path after Federal Reserve officials suggested that interest rates may need to stay higher for longer even as inflation shows early signs of easing.
ERDOGAN PROGRAMME
President Tayyip Erdogan will speak at a sustainable agriculture conference in Istanbul (1100 GMT).
HOUSE SALES
The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce house sales for April (0700 GMT).
CENBANK SURVEY
Turkey's central bank will release its monthly survey on market participants' expectations for the economy (0700 GMT).
ISRAEL TRADE
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich on Thursday said Israel would abolish its free trade agreement with Turkey and also impose a 100% tariff on other imports from Turkey in retaliation for Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan's decision to halt exports to Israel.
KOBANI CONVICTIONS
A Turkish court sentenced former pro-Kurdish party leader Selahattin Demirtas to more than 40 years in jail on Thursday for instigating protests in 2014 triggered by an Islamic State attack on the Syrian Kurdish town of Kobani.
VICE PRESIDENT
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz said he expects savings from the government's new efficiency plan to outstrip estimates as it continues the fight against inflation this summer with the full backing of President Tayyip Erdogan.
