Aug 29 (Reuters) -Exchange operator Nasdaq Inc NDAQ.O on Tuesday appointed former UBS Group UBSG.S executive Sarah Youngwood as its new chief financial officer, effective December 1, 2023.

Youngwood will succeed Nasdaq's current CFO Ann Dennison who will remain at the company until the end of the year, the company said.

Nasdaq, under CEO Adena Friedman, has been making efforts to reshape itself as a major player in the financial technology industry.

Earlier this year, Nasdaq appointed Tal Cohen and Nelson Griggs as presidents, formalizing the corporate structure the company put in place to boost major growth areas, such as anti-financial crime software.

Youngwood had been the UBS Group's CFO since May 2022. Earlier this year, Youngwood left UBS after it completed its deal to buy Credit Suisse.

She previously spent more than two decades at U.S. banking giant JPMorgan JPM.N in a number of executive roles.
