POLITICS
Italy is opposed to a ground incursion by Israeli forces into the Gaza Strip's southern city of Rafah, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Tuesday.
ECONOMY
ISTAT releases January industrial output data (0900 GMT).
DEBT
Italy's Treasury said on Tuesday it would offer up to 2.75 billion euros in BTP "short term" bonds at auction on Friday.
COMPANIES
Milan, Milan Stock Exchange continues "Euronext STAR Conference 2024"; ends on March 21.
TERNA TRN.MI
Italian power grid company Terna TRN.MI said on Tuesday it would invest 16.5 billion euros ($18 billion) over the next five years to help the country integrate renewable energy sources into its economy and make the network digital and more flexible. After the announcement of the new strategy, S&P and Moody's affirmed their long-term ratings for the group at BBB+ and Baa2 respectively, with a stable outlook.
(*) Goldman Sachs on Wednesday raised its rating on Terna to 'neutral.'
TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI
Merlyn Partners, a Luxembourg based alternative investment fund, said it held 0.53% ofthe Italian former phone monopoly as of Tuesday.

The Italian national postal service said on Wednesday it expects to grow both its operating and net profit by around 4% annually over the next five years, outpacing its projected revenue rise, and gradually increase payout to at least 65% of earnings, from 54% last year.
The company holds a 'Capital Markets Day' beginning at 0900 GMT, followed by a news conference at 1245GMT.

The automaker and the state of California reached an agreement on emissions on Tuesday after Stellantis unsuccessfully sought to join a deal that other car producers had struck with the state in 2019.
On Wednesday, Stellantis said it was acquiring a stake in optical radar start-up SteerLight as it seeks to strengthen its market position and secure access to crucial sensors for autonomous driving.

Berenberg on Wednesday cut its rating on the Italian energy company to 'hold' from 'buy'.

Barclays on Wednesday cut its rating on the Italian oil refining company to 'equal-weight' from 'overweight', and raised the target price to 1.75 euros from 1.70.

Citigroup on Wednesday resumed coverage of the Italian lender with a 'buy' rating, and set a target price of 6.85 euros.

Shares in Italian luxury group Prada 1913.HK fell as much as 10.9% in Hong Kong on Wednesday after luxury giant Kering PRTP.PA issued a profit warning, citing struggling sales for its star label Gucci.
M&A
Italy's government detailed the conditions for clearing ION Group's 1.3 billion euro ($1.4 billion) acquisition of credit manager Prelios in an email sent to the fintech group late last week, a person with knowledge of the matter said.
